Vision

To see the holistic transformation of neighborhoods through the Good News of the Kingdom and reconciliation of all things back to God.

Who we are.

A network of spiritual families of grace, healing, and liberation.

A movement of missional disciples who follow Jesus and live out our purpose.

A church deeply rooted in its neighborhoods

We are a diverse group of disciples who follow the teachings of Jesus, live Spirit-led lives, and love our community. As we live this way collectively, we become a new people, a new community, impacting individuals, families, neighborhoods, and the city.

History

New Community Church began as a Bible study in the home of Darryl & Stephanie Answer. Through a partnership with World Impact (www.worldimpact.org) they began organizing as a church. After a year of gathering in their home they moved to Hope Leadership Academy in 2016. With this move New Community has experienced growth, and in 2017 became a church plant of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC). New Community Church desires to be a tangible display of God’s love in neighborhoods, a connector of community assets, and a catalyst for justice and liberation.

Beliefs

Our Denomination

We are part of the Evangelical Covenant Church. The Evangelical Covenant Church seeks to form and nurture communities that are deeply committed to Jesus Christ and passionately engaged in Christ’s mission in the world. We enjoy being part of this “family” because of the emphases of caring for those on the margins, learning from and bringing together people of various cultures, reliance on God’s Word, and trusting in God’s Spirit to lead and guide us. We also appreciate that while we hold key Christian beliefs strongly, we allow room for disagreement on the minor issues. We have a variety of backgrounds and experiences, and we choose to follow Jesus together.
